Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on leading and mentoring maintenance craftsmen to inspect, repair, calibrate, install, and maintain industrial combustion and process control systems. You will ensure that all combustion-related equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards, while supporting continuous improvement in reliability and product quality across the operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and assist maintenance craftsmen in demonstrating safe work practices and maintaining full compliance with all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Direct and support craftsmen in performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on combustion equipment to achieve optimal efficiency and consistent product uniformity.
• Ensure that combustion systems are maintained in accordance with NFPA 86 and internal compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to develop and implement test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures for combustion and process control equipment.
• Lead efforts to keep process equipment compliant with quality assurance requirements, including performing process control tuning, thermal uniformity surveys, process control calibrations, and system accuracy tests.
• Diagnose and resolve process control and combustion-related issues to minimize process variation and maintain stable operations.
• Provide technical assistance and training to other crafts and production groups on process control and combustion system troubleshooting.
• Guide craftsmen in using various hardware and software tools, including PLC platforms, data loggers, calibrators, infrared cameras, and related technologies to support maintenance activities.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers, supervisors, other crafts, contractors, production teams, vendors, and OEM suppliers to coordinate maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
• Support general housekeeping and maintain an orderly, safe, and efficient work area.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician working with industrial combustion systems and process control equipment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex industrial systems.
• Hands-on experience with installing, servicing, and calibrating fuel-burning equipment such as industrial boilers, furnaces, and gas turbines.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
• Practical knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial setting.
• Experience with PLC control systems and industrial automation environments.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and guide craftsmen in safe work practices and technical tasks.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams, contractors, and suppliers.
• Commitment to maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards, including NFPA 86 and internal QA requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with NFPA 86 standards for combustion systems.
• Experience performing process control tuning, thermal uniformity surveys, process control calibrations, and system accuracy tests.
• Comfort using industrial software and hardware tools such as PLC platforms (including SLC-500 and ControlLogix), data loggers, calibrators, and infrared cameras.
• Industrial environments such as metal processing, aluminum extrusion, or similar high-temperature operations.
• Ability to support and train other crafts and production personnel in combustion and process control troubleshooting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Pottsville, PA.

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $42.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Pottsville,PA.
