Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years required; first-time travelers accepted only with 3+ years of Level 1 trauma center experience License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: - Strong clinical decision-making skills - Compassionate patient care Description: As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care. Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe and therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Employ evidence-based practice and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment. Deliver the best patient experience across the continuum. The unit is currently undergoing renovations, with significant upgrades planned to enhance service delivery. Expect a fast-paced environment requiring the management of a diverse patient population. Common patient types include trauma, stroke, cardiac events, and various critical medical conditions. Patient ratios may vary based on clinical area and acuity; expect ratios of 3:1, 4:1, 5:1, and 6:1. Support is provided within the department through a team of Allied Health professionals. Technologies used include electronic medical records and point-of-care ultrasound equipment. Floating to other related units may be required. Weekend rotations are expected, with no on-call requirements. Travelers may be required to work 75% of holidays. Scrub color is royal blue.
