Our people are Shaping Industry from the Inside.About the JobReporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer is responsible for technical ownership of an inherited line retrofit with known scope misses and immovable schedule constraints. The Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for rapidly learning both legacy and new process and manufacturing methods and identifying and closing process and equipment gaps by scoping, designing, quoting, and submitting CAPEX change orders required to produce the new products that justified the retrofit, while ensuring successful run-off producing quality sellable product.ResponsibilitiesAchieve working fluency in legacy and new process flows, CTQs, constraints, and failure modesBuild and maintain a Gap Register including missing equipment/capability, consequences, options, cost/lead time, install window and risksConvert gaps into executable packages: scope, design intent, RFQs, quotes, CAPEX and change orders, and acceptance criteriaEnsure mechanical process readiness for run-off including utilities, guarding, access, maintainability, safety integration, and training artifactsBecome fluent with Project Transfer documentation to absorb constraints, decision trail, and daily prioritiesDocument legacy vs. new process differences and identify what is required to achieve “quality, sellable product” at run-offDevelop a working map of CTQs and process windows for legacy and new productsOwn scope development for missing equipment and capabilities including process equipment, material handling, thermal and process systems and instrumentation, utilitiesDevelop RFQ packages and coordinate vendor engagement; compress lead times by issuing early and refining with addenda as neededDrive change orders and CAPEX with objective success metrics and acceptance criteria; maintain change control and document assumptionsCoordinate install windows and commissioning readiness with PM, maintenance, contractors, and the Controls EngineerPartner tightly with the Rockwell Controls Engineer to ensure instruments and field devices and control requirements are aligned earlyEnsure the installed reality matches run-off needsQualificationsMinimum 3-5 years direct experience and responsibility for industrial automation in a manufacturing environmentBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferredHands-on experience scoping and implementing process equipment changes in a live plant environment requiredPrevious experience with executable scopes including RFQs, cost and lead time assessment, installation planning, acceptance testing plans requiredAbility to operate under ambiguity early and converge rapidly to execution disciplinePrevious experience with line retrofits, brownfield projects, or inherited projects with incomplete scope preferredPrevious experience supporting commissioning and run-off and defining objective acceptance criteria preferredPrevious experience writing CAPEX justifications and managing change orders preferredSuccessful candidate will have strengths in the following:Self-motivated and ability to work independentlyStrong ownership and accountabilityForward thinking regarding safety, maintainability, operator workflow, quality, and controls integrationStrong vendor accountability to prevent drift with clear scope, change control, and acceptance tests.Excellent written and verbal skillsEffective & efficient technical and strategic problem solving, and organizational skillsExposure to Lean Six Sigma methodology acceptable, training and application evidenceAttention to detail, accuracy, and precisionAnalytical thinkingIntegrityLeadershipOrganizing, planning, and prioritizing work of others, while maintaining positive working relationshipsBenefitsAs a valued Trelleborg team member, you will enjoy:Competitive salaryAnnual variable bonus planGenerous benefits package: Health, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Life, 401kTuition ReimbursementPaid time offPaid holidaysEmployee assistance programA rewarding career with greater opportunity for impactTrelleborg is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, sex or gender (including pregnancy, childbirth or related medical condition, including but not limited to lactation), sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression (including transgender status), ancestry, national origin, citizenship, age physical or mental disability, genetic information, marital status, veteran or military status or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.At Trelleborg, our people are #ShapingIndustryfromtheInsideApply here!Jobbar du redan på Trelleborg?Hjälp till i rekryteringen och hitta din framtida kollega.
