Mainframe DeveloperThis role focuses on the ongoing maintenance and support of core mainframe applications within the Tax Engineering area. You will be responsible for managing complex legacy logic, researching system behaviors, and ensuring the stability of brokerage platforms. While the primary focus is on mainframe technologies (COBOL/CICS/DB2), a foundational understanding of cloud environments (AWS) and REST APIs is required to support long-term modernization efforts. You are expected to independently review designs, perform root-cause analysis, and use AI-assisted tools like Copilot for code research.Core ResponsibilitiesApplication Maintenance: Optimize and maintain COBOL, CICS (online and batch), and JCL environments.Data Management: Manage data and execute complex queries using DB2 and SQL.Research & Analysis: Independently analyze system behaviors and undocumented logic; perform end-to-end debugging of production issues.Modernization Collaboration: Partner with developers in an Agile environment to bridge the gap between mainframe logic and API-driven cloud applications.Technical RequirementsMainframe Stack: Deep expertise in COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL.Distributed Systems: Knowledge of Oracle, SQL, and REST APIs.Cloud: Foundational knowledge of AWS for modernization transitions.Domain Expertise: Professional experience in BFSI, specifically Brokerage, Corporate Actions, or Trade Settlement.Tools: Proficiency in Jira and experience with AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot).
