Audit & Claims Clerk - 1st shift

Compensation Starting rate is $21 + Tiers (Tier level 1 = $1.00 increase; Tier level 2 = $1.00 increase). The position is hourly. Shift Schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (first shift). Job Purpose The Audit & Claims Clerk is responsible for processing, researching, and reconciling inventory discrepancies or claims. This includes tracking/reporting inventory such as Finished Goods, CHEP Pallets, PECO Pallets and other product/materials as needed. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Performs physical counts of inventory including Finished Goods, Pallets, and Materials to maintain accuracy. Counts, reconciles, and reports inventory on a daily basis. Accurately inputs inventory control data to ensure integrity. Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time. Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records, recommending remedial actions. Reconciles customer claims against inventory adjustments and researches as appropriate. Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager. Additional Responsibilities Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Writes routine reports and correspondence. Ensures compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations. Physically counts articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets. Uses a computer terminal to account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation. Qualifications Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in inventory control. Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment. Must communicate, read, write, and speak English. Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift. Experience using WMS software is a plus (Synapse preferred). PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access Database. Education And/or Experience Required High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and write emails. Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms. Ability to determine the root cause of a problem and identify corrective action. Computer Skills Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails, reconciling data in spreadsheets, and creating or interpreting reports. Physical Demands Occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to activate phone systems using keyboards and buttons. Articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others. Works in an indoor/office environment and sits or uses repetitive hand motion. Required to talk, hear, stand, and walk regularly. May work more than continuous 8 hours when required. Works under stressful situations, maintains accuracy, and can concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously. Has 20/20 corrected vision for reading and discerning visual images on a variety of media. Speaks and communicates clearly over the telephone. In sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician; no evidence of controlled substance use. Work Environment Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles; noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
