Construction / MEP Estimator

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position with a commercial construction company specializing in commercial building projects. Responsibilities

• Prepare budgetary, conceptual, and competitive bid estimates for commercial construction projects while balancing profitability with client satisfaction.
• Perform labor and material quantity takeoffs.
• Complete carpentry and drywall takeoffs for self-performed work.
• Support pre-construction planning and estimating activities.
• Review and understand the full project scope.
• Lead bidding and estimating efforts and present estimates to clients.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and scope review discussions.
• Develop scope documentation for bidding purposes.
• Qualify estimates and bids based on project scope.
• Review and negotiate change orders with project stakeholders.
• Assist with project logistics, planning, and scheduling.
• Manage workloads to meet deadlines and project priorities.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, design professionals, and internal teams.
• Contribute to value engineering and constructability reviews.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in commercial building construction preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience with a general contractor or construction management firm preferred.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in construction estimating methods, software, and industry best practices.
• Thorough understanding of construction trades, project scopes, scheduling, and sequencing.
• Business development or marketing experience is a plus.
• Experience with hospitality, hotel, entertainment, or similar commercial projects is preferred.
