Travel Surgical Technologist

American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with at least one year of experience and current CST or TS-C certification for a hospital surgery unit position.

Job Details

• Hospital surgery unit supporting perioperative care,
• Provides age-specific care to obstetrical surgical patients,
• Schedule consists of four 9-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, from 0630-1600 with rotating days off,
• Weekend call required approximately every third weekend,
• Possible on-call coverage for holidays,
• EPIC EMR experience required,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of surgical technologist experience,
• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or a Certificate of completion from a Surgical Technology program,
• CST certification through NBSTSA or TS-C certification through NCCT required,
• BLS certification required,
• Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology,
• Basic understanding of electricity, chemistry, computers, robotics, and lasers as applied to surgical care,
• Demonstrated ability to apply sterile technique and problem-solve during procedures,
• License required if applicable,

Additional Information

• Functions as first, second, or assisting Surgical Technician under RN supervision during intraoperative care,
• Maintains sterile environment and applies asepsis principles throughout procedures,
• Assists with organization and coordination of supplies and equipment for efficient department operations,
• Participates in room turnover, setup, and equipment maintenance,
• Performs sterilization, disinfection, and documentation of loads per policy,
• Charges for equipment and supplies used during procedures,
• Maintains a safe environment for patients, staff, and self in accordance with hospital policies,
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates within this radius are not eligible,
• RTO may not exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
