Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ICU position requiring an active IL RN license and at least one year of relevant nursing experience.

Job Details

• Work in the Acute Care/Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting,
• Care for critically ill patients receiving multidisciplinary therapies,
• Night shift schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM,
• 40 hours per week across 5 shifts of 8 hours each,
• Weekend and holiday shifts required as needed,
• Floating required as needed,
• Uses Epic charting system,

Job Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted),
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association,
• Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience required,
• ASN required, BSN preferred,
• Experience assisting with intubation, central line insertion, and arterial line insertion and care,
• Experience working with ventilated patients for early mobility,
• Epic EMR charting experience required,

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to ICU patients including assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions,
• Supervise and delegate patient care tasks to nursing assistants and health care technicians (HCTs), validating task completion,
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure best patient outcomes,
• Utilize meaningful hourly rounding, bedside reporting, and whiteboards to ensure communication with patients and families,
• Apply critical thinking and nursing judgment to identify and respond to changes in patient condition,
• Report to Nurse Manager and maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of care provided,
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position,
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
