Posting number: 02084 Department: Corrections Job classification: Treatment Coordinator Posting type: Open Categories: Corrections Summary The Treatment Coordinator, under the administrative direction of the Deputy Warden/Warden/Director of Corrections, will be responsible for the direct supervision of all counseling services and programs. Examples of duties Supervise and manage all Treatmen tServices offered at the Facility. Supervise and manage the Counseling Department. Develop and implement all treatment services and programs within the facility. Ensure all State regulations are met and incompliance with Title 37. Coordinate all services with Luzerne County Court Administration, Drug and Alcohol and Mental Health/Intellectual Disability Offices. Ensure all inmates are interviewed, classified, referred to and receive needed services in a timely manner. Provide one on one or group counseling as needed. Participate in the Work Release disciplinary hearings. Schedule all treatment services and religious services in conjunction with security staff to ensure the safe and secure operation of the facility. Monitor and coordinate the Pre-Trial Services program. Coordinate volunteer programs such as AA & NA. Monitor and direct the daily operations of the Day Reporting Center. Review and process all applications for the Day Reporting Center. Supervise all bail clients participating in the Day Reporting Center Program. Work with county and community agencies to improve reentry services. Work with community agencies to bring programs into the facility for inmates such as Victim’s Resource Center, Domestic Violence Service Center, and CareerLink. Schedule AIDS/HIV testing and education services. Review and submit all referrals to diversionary programs. Coordinate all reentry programs and reentry planning within the Division of Corrections. Act as the Grievance Coordinator for all inmate grievances pertaining to treatment services. Chair the Luzerne County Reentry Committee. Chair the Sexual Assault Response Team and the PREA Implementation Team to implement PREA Standards throughout the facility and uphold the Zero Tolerance Policy for Sexual Abuse, Assault, or Harassment within the facility. Ensure all support staff (i.e., Clergy, Volunteers, etc.) are providing services as needed. Ensure all individuals entering the facility for educational or treatment services has received a NCIC background check and been approved by the Deputy Warden. Hold biweekly treatment meetings to review special cases and any issues or concerns with services within the facility. Collect statistical information regarding services and inmate populations. Oversee the Educational Programs in the facility such as GED and AEP. Assist inmates with getting medical assistance, transportation, housing, identifying documents and job placement information to prepare them for release. Oversee the Internship Program. Work with Children & Youth to schedule court ordered visits between inmates and their children. Monitor and follow special populations such as veterans, pregnant females, homeless inmates, medically disabled inmates, juveniles, and mentally ill inmates, throughout their incarceration. Submit Act 22 paperwork to DPW as needed. Abide by all standard operating procedures, Rules and Regulations, Post Orders and Code of Ethics of the Facility. Have no felony convictions, domestic violation convictions, drug related offenses or criminal charges pending. Possess a Selective Service Registration Card. Applicants must successfully complete state mandatory training programs, as well as a criminal background check, physical examination, and drug screening. Be a team member with the Diversionary Courts. Attend all team meeting and court sessions. Work with MHDS and designees with the Community Based Competency restoration program. Qualifications The incumbent must pass a County background check with no record of criminal convictions. The position requires that the incumbent be on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for emergencies related to the Division of Corrections operations. Part of the position functions involves the handling of CONFIDENTIAL DATA, disclosure of which is protected by law. Cope in a crisis situation. Abide by all Standard Operation Procedures, rules and regulations, post orders and the County Policy. Must be able to communicate and work with the inmates closely on a daily basis. Relate to inmates without discrimination regarding race, creed, color, religion or criminal charges. Supplemental information Must be at least 21 years of age. Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Counseling, Behavioral Sciences or Social Sciences, a Master’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of four (4) years of experience working as a Counselor providing group and individual counseling of a general nature, vocational rehabilitation counseling, social casework and groupwork, including self-help groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, testing and clinical psychological services, and psychiatric services.
