Insurance Defense Attorney

This position offers the opportunity to work on complex insurance matters, including insurance litigation, risk assessment and analysis, and navigating intricate insurance issues ranging from first-party property claims to significant personal injury cases. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in maritime, energy, transportation, and general casualty litigation, as well as first- and third-party property litigation and insurance coverage matters. A strong understanding of the insurance industry is essential to effectively assist clients in resolving challenging insurance disputes. Experience representing domestic and international insurers and reinsurers in both first-party and third-party matters throughout the United States is highly valued. Trial experience is preferred. Responsibilities Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, providing legal counsel and representation to clients. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop effective case strategies. Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents. Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings as necessary. Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to achieve successful client outcomes. Stay current with legal developments and emerging trends in insurance defense and coverage law. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Active membership and good standing with the Texas State Bar. Strong legal research and writing skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment. In-depth knowledge of insurance coverage and the insurance industry.
