Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Title: RN – ICU / IMCU Location: Abilene, TX 79601 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 hrs/week | On-call once every 6 weeks Requirements: Minimum 1 year of ICU experience ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications Any charting system experience required ICU experience required Charge experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Trauma Level II experience preferred Patient ratio: 1:3 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period Flu vaccination required; medical/religious exemptions only No COVID-19 vaccination required Travel experience not required Description: Provides nursing care to adults and geriatric patients with low-acuity ICU needs and high-acuity telemetry conditions in a 25-bed IMCU/stepdown unit. Cares for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, frequent titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, high oxygen requirements, neurological monitoring, and complex cardiac and vascular procedures. Common cases include post-TNK patients, STEMI post-cath, temporary pacemakers, pericardial drains, EKOS therapy, FemStop management, and patients receiving Levophed, Cardene, Neosynephrine, or insulin infusions.
