Details ICU setting with a mix of low acuity ICU patients and high acuity telemetry patients Patient ratio of 1:3 Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00 On-call required once every 6 weeks 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period Any charting system experience required; Altera experience preferred Requirements Active RN license (TX or compact) required in hand at time of consideration Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required Prior charge nurse experience preferred Teaching hospital experience preferred Trauma Level II experience preferred Experience with a broad range of ICU skills including IV therapy, central/arterial line management, ventilator and airway management, cardiac drip titration, and dysrhythmia management Experience with neurological, respiratory, renal, cardiovascular, and GI patient care preferred Must complete facility-required lab work within 72 hours of accepting offer or provide a completion plan Must pass facility-administered drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing Additional Information Provide direct patient care for ICU and telemetry patients requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions Assist with cardiac, neurological, respiratory, renal, and GI complications common in critical care settings Complete non-billable orientation modules averaging 6-8 hours Previous permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler Must reside within 150 miles of the facility to be considered a local candidate for RN/LVN roles Local candidates are not accepted for Allied/CNA roles Travel experience preferred but not required First-time travelers may be considered American Traveler Job ID P-748620.
