Material Handler

Position Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for supporting efficient production and warehouse operations through the safe movement, loading, unloading, stacking, and storage of materials within the facility. This role helps ensure the timely flow of materials to support manufacturing and distribution activities while maintaining inventory accuracy and workplace safety. The Material Handler may also assist with inventory cycle counts and physical inventories to support accurate stock levels and operational efficiency.

Maintain Safety & Housekeeping Standards

• Follow all health, safety, environmental, and operational policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Manage Inventory Transactions

• Perform inventory transfers into and out of manufacturing and warehouse locations using RF scanning equipment.
• Accurately document and complete all inventory transactions.

Order Fulfillment

• Pick, stage, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently according to daily priorities and schedules.

Shipping & Receiving Support

• Coordinate with shipping and receiving personnel to support daily material movement and picking schedules.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and staging materials as needed.

Inventory Accuracy

• Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities.
• Support inventory control initiatives to ensure stock accuracy and proper recordkeeping.

Operate Material Handling Equipment

• Safely operate powered industrial equipment, including:
• • Reach trucks (stand-up forklifts)
  • Forklifts
  • Pallet jacks
  • Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP), including scissor lifts and boom lifts
• Conduct equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience preferred.
• Experience operating powered industrial equipment required, specifically stand-up forklifts (reach trucks).

Required Skills & Abilities

• Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to perform transactions in SAP or similar inventory management systems.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to accurately complete paperwork and inventory records.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods as required.
• Flexibility to work multiple shifts and overtime based on business needs.
• Ability and willingness to wear required PPE, including hearing protection, safety glasses, respirators, and steel-toed footwear.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and material handling tools, including reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scan guns.
