About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty required License: Compact or state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Experience with managing high acuity ICU patients - Ability to float to other ICUs and SDUs - Epic experience Description: This position involves high acuity ICU care. The patient to nurse ratio is 1:2. There is a float requirement to other ICUs and step-down units. Experience with pulmonary artery catheters and balloon pumps is preferred. No block scheduling requests will be accepted. The role includes caring for post-operative CABG, valve replacement, and aortic dissection patients. Experience with transplant recovery for liver, heart, lungs, kidneys, and pancreas patients is required. Knowledge of Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy is essential. You will be expected to manage and care for a range of surgical recovery patients. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing support for ventilated patients. You will perform procedures such as accessing ports, managing central lines, and monitoring arterial blood gases. Infection prevention measures must be strictly followed. Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure will be part of your duties. All candidates must provide recent NURSYS reports upon submission. Travel experience is required. This position requires adaptability to emergencies as directed by management.
