Job Description Code: 2G.030 Division/Department: Academics and Accountability Pay Grade: Certified Specialist Salary Schedule Pay Type: Salaried; Exempt Retirement: TRS Contract Work Year: 188 Days Reports To: Coordinator, Curriculum Support (content specific) Evaluation Instrument: PEI Minimum Qualifications Master’s Degree in assigned content area required. Ten years’ experience in education required. Teacher leader and/or administrative experience preferred. Goal Responsible for assisting the Coordinator in the developing, planning, managing, supporting, organizing, and implementing the assigned content area program within the schools. The incumbent in this position assists with the overall administration and coordination of the assigned content program in support of effective instructional practices, professional development, resource development and alignment, and communication of the overall program. Representative Duties & Responsibilities Assists the Coordinator with all aspects of the assigned content instruction using research based instructional strategies. Provides support in the development of a comprehensive effort to ensure that all teachers are implementing evidence-based practices. Provides support and professional learning. Assists with selecting, developing, and aligning resources to the classroom. Monitors school system data to determine trends and in turn develops and implements the most effective strategies for meeting and exceeding state and national student achievement goals. Promotes effective instructional practices and communication that support high levels of instruction through the use of research-based data driven best practices, effective classroom consultation, and program evaluation. Assists administrators and teachers in evaluating and improving classroom instruction. Assists in reviewing and evaluating results of District-wide assessments and recommends appropriate modifications. Assists in the planning and development of District and school-wide instructional in-service programs for school leaders, teachers, aides, and parent volunteers to assist in raising the level of instructional performance and student proficiency. Assists with the implementation of appropriate universal screening process. Ensure adherence to safety procedures. Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position. Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner. Follow federal and state laws, and Board policies. Perform other duties as assigned.
