This 190-bed Joint Commission-accredited teaching hospital delivers a broad range of services, including 24/7 Emergency Care (Trauma Level III), Cardiovascular Services, Cancer Care, Orthopedic Care, Women's and Children's Health, and Primary Care Services. The outpatient gastroenterology clinic provides consistent coverage for the management of chronic and acute gastrointestinal conditions, with clinicians supported by a triage RN and an inpatient PA. The facility utilizes EPIC EMR and provides training during onboarding to ensure clinician readiness.

The area offers clinicians on assignment access to a range of arts, cultural, and outdoor recreational activities suited to varied interests. Cultural venues include LA Arts, The Public Theatre, and Museum LA, while Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary, the Androscoggin River, and walking trails provide options for outdoor exploration. Annual community events such as Riverfest, the Great Falls Balloon Festival, and BrewFest complement the recreational calendar. Lost Valley Ski Resort is located approximately 15 minutes from the assignment site, with coastal and wilderness destinations - including Old Orchard Beach and Acadia National Park - accessible within a reasonable drive. The area is also home to Bates College and the Androscoggin Swinging Bridge, adding to the range of points of interest available during time away from clinical responsibilities.

The gastroenterology physician associate will provide outpatient clinic coverage on a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no call responsibilities required. Clinical responsibilities include the evaluation and management of chronic and acute gastroenterology diseases for both new and established patients, with an expected volume of 18-20 patients per day. The facility utilizes EPIC as its EMR system, with training provided during onboarding. Board certification and prescriptive authority are required for all clinicians considered for this role.
