A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST:

As the Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, that may include researching sponsorship and donation requests from the community, developing relationships with community organizations, crafting customer-facing messaging, creating social media, blog, email marketing, and website content, writing press releases, researching trends in the industry and attending BSNB events and promotions. Other assigned projects throughout the year may require you to take an idea, research it, discuss it with appropriate areas of the bank and make recommendations on how the bank should proceed.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or Marketing, or a minimum of five years' Communications-related experience required; in the financial services industry preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, WordPress, and MailChimp preferred. Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing communications strategies required.
• Knowledge of planning, coordinating, and implementing special events and business promotions.
• A high level of creativity is required, with demonstrated attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, coupled with strong organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a group or independently.
