About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to provide vision and strategic leadership for its community-powered park. The successful candidate will be responsible for the long-term sustainability of the park, including fundraising, stakeholder and community engagement, and operations. This role involves overseeing a $2 million operating budget, guiding a team of 10 staff members, and working closely with the Board of Directors. The Executive Director will be expected to build and develop a high-performing team, foster a culture of accountability and growth, and implement systems that strengthen the organization's long-term impact. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, driving fundraising initiatives, and ensuring a high-quality visitor experience while prioritizing environmental stewardship. Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a strong connection to the mission, with a passion for outdoor recreation, parks, and conservation. A background of at least 10 years in senior leadership and management, including proven success in fundraising and financial stewardship, is required. The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of fiscal management, and experience in building and leading high-performing teams. Experience with nonprofit governance practices, technology, and CRMs is also essential. The role demands a leader with high emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and the ability to manage conflict with integrity and transparency.
