Job Description

Position: Lunch Monitor

Job Goal: The lunch monitor will support students in the school during lunch.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children
• Flexible with duties and responsibilities. Ability to shift gears as needed.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Assist children in moving through the lunch line to ensure students are able to get lunch.
• Assist children as needed with opening food and drink containers.
• Monitor cafeteria during lunch to ensure that students are eating lunch and behaving according to the school rules.
• Wipe down tables at the end of each lunch group.
• Speak in a calm, professional manner to students and other staff members. No yelling at students.
• Work collaboratively with the building administration, teachers and custodians to ensure that the lunch periods run smoothly.

Terms of employment: 180 days. 2-3 hours per day, depending on the school.

Reports to: Building Principals and Assistant Principals

Pay rate: $16.50 per hour
