EHS Specialist

Job Description Legrand North America is seeking an EHS Specialist to join our operations center and distribution facility in Moreno Valley, CA. The position reports to the Moreno Valley site and supports the company’s goal of zero workplace injuries by maintaining compliance with OSHA, EPA, state and federal regulations, ISO standards, and CSR objectives. Responsibilities Manage and maintain the company’s EH&S programs aligned with corporate policies. Coordinate and facilitate training for employees and managers on site safety practices. Maintain strong floor presence to monitor working conditions and recommend improvements. Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to identify hazards and recommend safe work practices. Address unsafe acts, conditions, hazards and environmental risks and communicate remediation steps. Implement and oversee ISO 14001 environmental management and ISO 45001 occupational safety systems. Manage the site Safety Committee, including monthly agenda and follow‑up on action items. Create content and deliver safety talks to department leads and supervisors. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. Analyze injury/incident trends and take remediation steps. Develop and manage ergonomic initiatives and continuous improvement processes. Implement training programs per OSHA, EPA, ISO, and federal requirements. Assist in meeting corporate sustainability and environmental metrics related to CSR. Provide direction to plant management on EH&S budget needs and policies. Drive environmental programs related to energy, air, waste, and wastewater. Support HR Manager with workers’ compensation injuries/illnesses. Direct, lead, and motivate facility personnel to achieve EH&S goals. Facilitate training events, EH&S activities, process improvements, and visual controls. Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment for hazards and compliance. Manage measurements, metrics, reporting, analysis, and record‑keeping for EH&S compliance. Align corporate and local EH&S goals, leading continuous improvement initiatives. Education Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety or a related discipline. Other degrees supported by certification or training program completions will be considered. Experience Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience focused on EH&S, preferably in a lean manufacturing or distribution environment. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Knowledge of local, federal, state and OSHA regulations. Experience with ISO 14001/45001. Strong organizational and time‑management skills with close attention to detail. Competent in incident investigation and root cause analysis. Ability to handle multiple priorities and implement effective solutions quickly. Ability to interact with individuals at all levels and create a team approach to EH&S. Ability to work independently as well as within diverse teams. Strong computer skills using word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to travel up to 20% of the time. Physical Requirements Sit, walk, and stand. Hear, speak, and exchange information in person and on the telephone. Lift, carry, push and/or pull items up to 25 pounds. Bend at the waist, kneel, or crouch.
