Work Environment

The selected Physical Therapy Assistant will work onsite in our modern hospital setting. The role is primarily full-time with a structured schedule from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. Key Responsibilities

The PTA's day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Assisting licensed physical therapists in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Administering hands-on therapeutic services, such as exercises and rehabilitation techniques, under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Educating patients and their families about exercises, self-care techniques, and lifestyle modifications to aid in recovery.
• Monitoring patient progress meticulously throughout therapy sessions, documenting changes and compliance as per protocols.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team—encompassing physicians, occupational therapists, and nursing staff—to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Utilizing specific therapeutic techniques, including trigger point therapy, to address pain and improve functionality effectively.
• Participating in occupational health initiatives to promote workplace well-being and effective treatment integration.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role encompasses engaging with a diverse range of patients, including those undergoing rehabilitation after surgery, injury, or chronic pain conditions. The Physical Therapy Assistant will need to adapt treatment approaches based on individual patient needs and progress, ensuring both effective recovery pathways and high levels of patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or an equivalent program.
• A currently active state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in New York.
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with a focus on physical therapy.
• Strong foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Proficiency in various manual therapy techniques to provide optimal patient care.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
