- Draft patent applications (specifications + claims)
- Respond to USPTO and global office actions
- Perform freedom-to-operate (FTO) & clearance studies
- Compare inventions with existing technologies
- Identify key features and differentiators of inventions
- Collaborate with clients to build IP portfolios
- Present technical findings clearly to technical & non-technical stakeholders
- Degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering (primary preference)
- Electrical Engineering
- Computer Science or related field
- Strong ability to:
- Analyze technical concepts
- Communicate complex ideas clearly
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- USPTO registration
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Must-Have:
- Mechanical Engineering (or related technical degree)
- Patent drafting & prosecution exposure
- Prior art search & patentability analysis
- Strong technical writing skills
- Analytical thinking (compare inventions vs prior art)
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- USPTO registration
- Experience with FTO / clearance studies
- Law firm or IP firm background
- Exposure to multiple technical domains
- Experience working with global patent offices
