Job Overview A law firm seeks a patent agent with expertise in mechanical engineering to join their Intellectual Property team in Boston, MA. The role involves collaborating with clients and team members to develop strategies for patent protection and conducting comprehensive patent analyses. Duties Collaborate with clients to understand and protect their technology. Draft and prosecute patent applications. Conduct freedom to operate studies and analyze patents. Assess scientific literature and patent documents. Provide opinions on scientific data related to inventions. Perform in-depth analysis of inventions against existing discoveries. Compose detailed patent applications and claims. Draft responses to patent application rejections. Conduct clearance studies for client products. Present ideas and provide feedback to colleagues. Requirements Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field. Ability to present scientific concepts to diverse audiences. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective collaboration in team settings. Education Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field.
