Family Practice/Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

An independent, non-profit acute care community hospital on the Southern Coast of New Jersey is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner with surgical office experience to join our growing, collaborative provider team. As a key member of our Surgical Team , you will support both general and vascular surgery patients in the clinic and hospital settings, with the opportunity to expand your skills as a First Assist in the OR.

Position Overview

In this role, you will:

• Support general and vascular surgical specialties within the same clinical location
• Conduct patient evaluations in the outpatient setting
• Coordinate care with physicians, imaging centers, and specialty providers
• Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory studies
• Manage prescription refills and prior authorizations
• Triage patient calls and electronic messages
• Provide wound care, including dressing changes and debridements
• Collaborate closely with Anesthesia, ED, Hospitalists, and surgical teams
• Review pre-op clearances and intervene as needed for abnormal results
• Finalize discharge documentation and coordinate follow-up care
• Educate patients on post-discharge care and recovery expectations
• Perform in-hospital surgery consultations and patient rounds
• Assist with and perform procedures as appropriate

Requirements:

• 2 Years of experience working in a Surgical role as a Nurse Practitioner
• Nurse Practitioner certification
• Have or ability to obtain a valid NJ State Board APN license, CDS and DEA
