Mammography Technologist, Emeryville ($10,000.00 Sign-On Bonus)

Mammography Technician – Full Time Day 8‑Hour Location: Emersonville, 5800 Hollis St, California – Onsite Overview Perform a variety of technical activities associated with the performance of screening and diagnostic mammography procedures. Assist radiologists with mammography procedures (cores, fine‑needle aspirates, localizations). Comply with all regulatory mandates for mammography. Perform quality assurance on digital equipment. Perform exams and assist radiologists in a teaching and research facility. Responsibilities Assist patients in completing mammography questionnaires and provide patient education. Handle all paperwork associated with procedures efficiently. Assist with ancillary functions such as obtaining outside films for comparison and follow‑up, faxing consent forms and abnormal results. Assist with procedures requiring knowledge of J‑wire placements, ultrasound‑guided core, needle biopsies, and wire placements; perform specimen transport. Charge mammographic procedures and supplies in Radiology Information Systems. Obtain, identify, manipulate, and send mammographic images via PACS; move images to physician reading stations. Develop mammographic film and match with appropriate paperwork for interpretation. Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as needed. Position patients and calculate exposure factors; assist physicians during imaging. Prepare and set up medical supplies using aseptic techniques when appropriate. Utilize all digital mammography equipment, perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and call for service; perform quality control functions. Education & Qualifications One (1) year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience. License/Certification: CRT, MAM (Mammography Certification), BLS (Basic Life Support). Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to ultrasound and radiographic procedures. Knowledge of computer systems and software used in the functional area. Knowledge of positioning, image processing, and safety principles for radiographic and ultrasound procedures. Ability to accurately bill complex procedures and supplies. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Team‑player attitude and ability to work with diverse groups. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
