Job Summary:
The surgical intensive care unit nurse position is located in Saint Augustine, Florida. This role involves working in a 12-bed ICU specializing in surgical patients on nights shifts. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position runs from August 3, 2026, through October 31, 2026, with a scheduled start date of August 3, 2026.
Job Details:
- Position: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Nurse
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours (1900-0730), with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Location: Saint Augustine, Florida
- Schedule: Unit scheduled; weekend and holiday requirements; no on-call required; block scheduling not guaranteed
- Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Experience Required: Total clinical experience of at least 2 years, with 2 years of ICU surgical experience and prior travel experience
- Clinical Skills: Ventilator management, vasopressor management, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump
- Additional Requirements: Must have experience with Epic electronic medical record system; floating to Critical Care Units, Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and Medical-Surgical units may be required
- Vaccination Policy: Seasonal Influenza Vaccination required; medical exemptions allowed with exemption form provided at submission
- Notes: Holiday requirement; RTO not requested at submission may not be approved; candidate can float to Cardiac Ventricular Interventions Center (CVICU); previous ICU travel experience including at UF Health Shands Gainesville; professional is fully pre-closed and ready to accept the assignment.
