This is an amazing opportunity to influence system architecture, solve complex high-speed design challenges, and drive product quality, performance, and reliability while employing emerging AI-enabled engineering tools and automation technologies!Responsibilities:Lead SSD hardware development activities across the product lifecycle, including design, validation, characterization, and production supportCollaborate with technically diverse teams to define requirements, review architectures, and deliver hardware solutions that meet performance, quality, and manufacturability goalsPerform signal integrity and power integrity analysis, simulation, validation, and debugging for high-speed interfaces and subsystemsDrive board bring-up, hardware debugging, root cause analysis, and technical investigations throughout development and qualificationMentor engineers and promote the use of AI tools and automation to improve engineering productivity and debug efficiencyMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 5+ years of hardware design experience in SSD, storage, high-performance computing, or related technologiesStrong expertise in high-speed hardware design, transmission line theory, signal integrity, power integrity, and PCB developmentHands-on experience with board bring-up, hardware debugging, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, schematic review, and laboratory validationExperience with PCIe technologies, compliance testing methodologies, and high-speed signal measurements in the 20-35 GHz rangeDemonstrated ability to lead engineering projects, solve complex technical problems, and communicate effectively across teamsPreferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical fieldExperience with SSD controller architectures, NAND flash technologies, and storage system designExpertise with PCIe Gen4, Gen5, or Gen6 technologies, as well as DDR memory subsystems and ONFI interfacesExperience applying AI-assisted engineering tools to hardware design, validation, debugging, and workflow automationExperience working with Agentic AI tools to assist with design and verificationThe US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:$152,000.00 - $280,000.00 a yearAdditional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
