Emergency Veterinarian

Veterinary Care PositionProvides primary veterinary care and case management within the Emergency Critical Care and Urgent Care Services. Provides leadership to the veterinary care team. Utilizes medical knowledge and expertise to provide onsite triage for ill or injured animals. Communicates and coordinates with clients and/or referring veterinarians to obtain relevant history, prior diagnostics, etc., in order to diagnose and treat patients. Helps clients assimilate information and make care decisions. Communicates and coordinates with other hospital services to facilitate timely efficient assessment, diagnostics, stabilization, treatment and/or transfer. Provides ongoing updates and initiates follow up calls to clients, veterinarians, and relevant parties. Practices and promotes prompt, positive, professional interpersonal relations and communications. Problem solves and provides consultation to students, staff, faculty, and community.
