POSITION SUMMARY Our food expediter ensures all orders are prepared and served correctly and on time. Applicants will be considered for all Food and Beverage locations based on need, skills, experience and ability as necessary. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the servers to the kitchen Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority Assist in the final preparation of dishes Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature Organize orders to maintain fast service Eliminate obstacles in service, food preparation lines or dishwashing Inspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaning Transfer important information between the kitchen and the wait staff (e.g. when a customer has a particular request) Handle complaints from guests to preserve the restaurant’s reputation Support other tasks as needed Station set up per station guide, and completed side work Adhere to all restaurant safety and health standards Ensure 8–12-minute ticket times are achieved. Alert management immediately if the threshold exceeds this standard Ensure understanding and compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements Be a consistent role model for company’s Service Excellence standards Other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 2 years of previous work history/education required Experience as food expeditor or other restaurant position required Understanding of health and safety rules in a restaurant Dexterity in using kitchen equipment or utensils and carry heavy trays Intermediate skiing/riding ability required for certain locations Well-organized and ability to lead and direct people Excellent communication and negotiation skills Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities Must have current Food Handler and Allergy training certificate, or must attend Food Handler and Aller-train certification courses for Alterra Mountain company within 14 days of employment EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma: Higher degree in hospitality or relevant field will be appreciated The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
