Specialty training and certification in internal medicine or psychiatry is desirable but not essential. Also desirable is some background, association or experience with problems of addiction and/or community medicine; a sensitivity to, and understanding of, the general lifestyle, emotional and behavioral patterns often associated with narcotics addiction. Adult CPR/AED or BLS certification must be obtained.Position Responsibilities and Expectations•The Staff Physician will have the ultimate responsibility for the medical aspects of the Clinic. He/she will also provide the initial and annual medical examination and on-going medical evaluation and treatment. This responsibility will be met by the physician either through services rendered directly or through appropriate referral as specified in the contract and the Program's Procedure Manual.•The Staff Physician will work closely with the Clinic Supervisor and counselors in assessing overall progress of patients, participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, and encourage the joint effort of all staff for maximum effectiveness of the Clinic and achievement of Program goals.Special Responsibilities and ExpectationsDuties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
