Job Details:

• Join a nationally recognized Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency General Surgery as an experienced Acute Care Surgeon with a leadership role as Associate Trauma Medical Director
• Opportunity designed for a seasoned surgeon seeking a long-term role within a highly collaborative, academically driven, and clinically advanced Acute Care Surgery program at or able to attain the level of Associate Professor
• Clinical volume includes 2,600+ trauma activations, 1,100+ surgical ICU admissions, and 1,500+ emergency general surgery operations annually
• Join a collaborative faculty of 14 Acute Care Surgeons within a mature multidisciplinary infrastructure with strong APP, ICU, and specialty support
• Play an integral role in mentorship, quality initiatives, operational leadership, and the continued evolution of the service line
• Active involvement in resident, fellow, medical student, and APP education as a primary teaching site for the University of Connecticut General Surgery Residency Program
• Access to the Center for Education, Simulation, and Innovation (CESI), one of the most advanced simulation centers worldwide
• Training programs include ATLS, ATOM, ASSET, and APP procedural bootcamps
• Opportunity to participate in faculty research presentations at national meetings including EAST, AAST, and the American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress
• Collaborate on innovation initiatives including AI-driven hypotension prediction models, virtual reality applications for surgical planning, and collaborations with MIT and Harvard Medical School
• Home to four Surgical Critical Care fellowship positions, including three AAST-approved two-year Acute Care Surgery fellowship positions
• Strong institutional support for investigator-led research, quality improvement, and health system innovation
• Board Certification in Surgery required with completion of a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship
• Must be eligible to be licensed in Connecticut
