Route Service Representative

Overview The Route Service Representative is responsible for daily deliveries and pickups along an assigned customer route, ensuring dependable service and strong customer support. Routes are serviced during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, to preserve work‑life balance. The position is full time with a 4‑day workweek from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with weekends and holidays off, and is based in Poughkeepsie. Starting pay begins at $25.00 per hour. Responsibilities Serve as the face of Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply by building strong relationships with key customer decision‑makers, maintaining high service standards, and proactively resolving customer concerns. Operate a company vehicle along an established route to deliver and pick up rented products while supporting customers with additional product solutions. Combine exceptional customer service with consultative sales skills to grow the route organically and maximize earning potential through upselling and cross‑selling opportunities. Maintain accurate invoices and inventory records, conduct regular inventory audits, identify additional service opportunities, and assist with renewing customer service agreements to support long‑term account growth. Perform all responsibilities safely, professionally, and in full compliance with company policies, driving laws, and vehicle safety regulations. Qualifications Must be at least 22 years of age or older for vehicle insurance purposes. A valid driver’s license in good standing with a clean record. Must meet pre‑employment DOT physical requirements. Physically capable of lifting up to 75 pounds and carrying products into and out of customers’ locations. Customer service experience, problem‑solving abilities, and the ability to build rapport and trust with clients. A high standard of integrity and work ethic. A friendly and professional can‑do attitude. Ability to meet the company’s appearance and dress code policy. Stable work history with good attendance and punctuality. Experience in fast‑paced environments such as production, manufacturing, assembly, shipping, packing, warehouse, restaurant or retail positions. Team player who acts with honesty and integrity.
