Estimator - Metal Fabrication

Opti Staffing is partnering with a well‑established metal fabrication and industrial manufacturing company in the Portland area. This organization specializes in precision metal fabrication, custom manufacturing, and industrial projects across multiple sectors. They are known for quality workmanship, strong project management, and long‑term customer relationships. What You’ll Do Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates Calculate material, labor, machining, tooling, and subcontractor costs Prepare and submit accurate, competitive quotes Collaborate with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to verify scope and lead times Communicate with vendors to obtain pricing on materials and outside services Analyze project risks, manufacturing feasibility, and production timelines Maintain estimating records and documentation in internal systems What’s In It for You Competitive pay up to $35/hr DOE Opportunity to work with a respected fabrication and manufacturing team Growth potential within estimating and operations Collaborative and team‑oriented environment What You Need to Have Experience as an Estimator within metal fabrication, machining, or related manufacturing industries Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and production workflows Strong math, analytical, and problem‑solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) The Musts Previous estimating experience in metal fabrication or similar industrial environment Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings and RFQs Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and vendors Preferred Experience with ERP/MRP systems Background in structural steel, sheet metal, or machining environments Knowledge of GD&T Experience sourcing vendor quotes and managing cost breakdowns Next Steps Please respond with an updated resume!
