Title: Sr Test Development Engineer
Location: Remote (PT zone preferred)
Duration: 12 Months with possibility of extension and convertion to full-time
Schedule: 8 AM to 5 PM or 9 AM to 6 PM (Overtime possible)

Travel Required: 0-5%

The Test Engineer 3 validates software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products, including firmware, apps, and server platforms. Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans and test protocols and automated test scripts, and performs risk assessments. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Consults with software development engineers in resolution of problems.

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated and manual test scripts to test the functionalities of the client CGM software, and system.
• Validate the configuration, functionality, and user interface of software and tools.
• Document software verification test protocols and software risk analyses, for software used in commercial products.
• Record and track issues in the bug tracking system.
• Analyze failures and collaborate with development teams to ensure root cause is investigated.
• Participate in software requirements and design reviews.
• Review software requirements and design specifications.
• Modify test protocols based on requirements changes and execute regression validation accordingly.
• Create requirements traceability matrices which demonstrate test coverage of all features.
• Write test reports documenting detailed results of validation, and report test progress to management.
• Follow internal software development, cybersecurity, and validation procedures that comply with medical and security regulations.
• Minimum of 5 years of software development or software test development related experience in OOP programming lungages like Python and JAVA.
• Experience with SW automation testing.
• Team focuses on end-to-end software testing and automation for client products.
• This is a hands-on coding and test automation role.
• Expected workload is approximately 60% automation testing and 40% manual testing, training, meetings, and other team activities.
• Strong emphasis on software development and test development experience.
• Candidates should be comfortable coding in Python and/or Java.
• API testing experience is a strong plus.
• Previous mobile and hardware testing experience is preferred but not required

Meet the team:

• The Sr. Test Development Engineer develops the automation test involves the design, development, building and maintenance of specialized test cases.
• The automation test solutions including electrical and mechanical hardware fixtures and validates software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products including firmware, apps, and server platform.
• Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans and test protocols and automated test scripts, and performs risk assessments.
• Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.
• Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.
• Consults with software development engineers in resolution of problems.
• Responsible to train junior engineers for the tasks required to complete and be a mentor to support engineers' growth.

Where you come in:

• Technically lead the team to Design, develop, execute, and maintain product E2E automated tests to test the software / firmware integrations in Client CGM systems.
• Use AI system to complete the test development and execution in fast pace with the quality of the test coverage.
• Develop and maintain CICT for client E2E test suite
• Follow internal software development, cybersecurity, and validation procedures that comply with medical and security regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What makes you successful:

• Knowledge of API based testing for the server communications.
• Excellent oral communication skills for interfacing with peers in internal/external departments.
• Strong written skills and ability to follow client software procedures and generate required software documentation.
• Software development or test experience in medical device industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of xCode and Android Studio/ADB interface is a plus.

Top 3 Skills:

1. 5+ years of software development / test development experience

2. Strong Python or Java development experience

3. API testing experience preferred/plus

Required Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of software development or software test development related experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of programming experiences with OOP languages such as JAVA, Python and Ruby.
• Proven experience in software testing and related areas of software quality assurance

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of source code management, such as Git.
• Knowledge of Android and/or iOS devices, including debugging, installation, and configuration
• Familiarity with a network debugging tool, such as Charles Proxy

Education Requirements:

• B.S computer science or related engineering

Required Testing:

• Client product testing

Software Skills Required:

• Programming languages such as python, java

Interview Information:

• Number of Interviews: 2
• Interview Format: Web Conference (Zoom/ TEAMs)
• Initial interview with the hiring team/manager.
• Technical interview with two engineers.

Additional Notes

• API testing is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Mobile application testing experience is highly valued because most automation activities involve mobile applications.
• Hardware testing experience is useful but not a deal-breaker if absent.
• Strong automation background is prioritized over hardware-specific experience.
