Radiology Scheduling CoordinatorShift: 5x8 0800-1630 M-F, no holidaysDuration: 13 Weeks, willing to extend longer as needed after evaluating staff coverageResponsibilities:Generate orders for radiology exams using the order entry system.Schedule outpatient and inpatient procedures including Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, and Nuclear Medicine.Maintain accurate departmental billing records.Answer, screen, and triage telephone calls within the departmental communication system.Utilize departmental paging system and contact on-call personnel and Radiologist as needed.Respond to patient questions and provide directions to different clinics, units, modalities, parking, and eating facilities.Maintain confidentiality of patient information.Schedule and reschedule a variety of Radiology exams using EPIC following approved protocol for each exam.Utilize financial clearance matrix when scheduling outpatient procedures.Communicate various types of information to patients, referral agencies, departments, physicians, and the community.Assist patients in completing various documents such as pre-procedure forms for radiology procedures.Facilitate patient check-in and check-out process by verifying patient identity, coordinating interpreter services, and arranging patient transportation.Utilize Accu-Reg to ensure Minimum Data Set has been provided by patient for proper billing.Perform general clerical duties such as processing mail and stocking supplies.Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as described yearly by the Joint Commission.Requirements:Graduate of High School, or equivalent.Minimum one year of experience in a healthcare setting, or three years of general office or community services experience, or equivalent education/experience.EPIC Experience is required.
