Full Time and Part Time positions are available. Join the team providing affordable veterinary care to low-income families at their full-service Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital or the crew at Smoky’s Spay & Neuter Clinic offering HGHVSN services to municipal shelters and non-profit rescues along with free Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return services to free roaming community cats. If you currently have – or are eligible for – a state of Virginia license to practice veterinary medicine, and currently have – or are eligible for — a DEA license, they want to hear from you! The Richmond SPCA would be willing to provide assistant to get your VA license. Competitive pay : Annual pay starts at $90,000, or more based upon experience for Full-Time Employees! Markel Veterinary Hospital of the Richmond SPCA for your own pets Daytime 4 day schedule! You will work four 10-hour shifts a week. Enjoy 3 days off every week! A day in the life: Perform spay/neuter surgeries, dentals, and other routine surgeries Deliver wellness care and annual physical examinations Perform and interpret routine diagnostic tests, including radiography Deliver care for sick or injured hospital patients as needed Develop ongoing treatment plans for acutely and chronically ill patients Communicate clearly and demonstrate the ability to educate a varied client base Examine and treat shelter animals as needed Other job-related duties as assigned Attend and participate in all required trainings and meetings About the organization: The Richmond SPCA is a non-profit organization located in the heart of Richmond, Virginia.
