Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing critical and compassionate care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver direct patient care by applying the nursing process with clinical expertise and adhering to professional ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a secure care environment.
- Maintain central lines and implement measures to prevent surgical site infections according to policy.
- Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and educate patients and families to promote health outcomes.
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and support clinical decision-making.
- Document all patient care activities and quality metrics accurately to comply with standards.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
- Engage patients and families with timely communication and education to improve their experience.
- Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop skills.
Education
Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
Experience
At least one year of nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Requirements
- Current RN license valid in the state or through compact licensure.
- Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Physical and Mental Demands
This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and reaching. Frequent exposure to infectious diseases and potential encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
