Paralegal

Description Responsible for managing matters that directly affect various business units by conducting fact‑finding, applying expertise in discrete legal areas, and conducting legal research in support of the Lowe’s Legal Department. This includes overseeing discovery, responding to client inquiries, communicating and coordinating with outside counsel, and completing specialized paralegal projects based on the assigned practice group. The role is also responsible for drafting, reviewing, and editing legal documents. Additional Skills & Qualifications 3 years experience drafting legal documents Experience working in a corporate law department Retail experience Experience with matter management systems State‑designated paralegal certification Responsibilities Perform specialized paralegal tasks based on the attached practice area, including claim review, issue recognition, investigating and responding to Notices of Violation, intellectual property docket management, and review of vendor agreements to identify high‑risk issues for escalation. Manage and coordinate fact‑finding and discovery, including preparing and submitting legal hold requests and due diligence summary reports. Draft legal correspondence and documents that require legal expertise, tailoring them to transaction details and memorializing them in the matter management system. Conduct legal research related to assigned matters, prepare research memoranda, and analyze legal issues for attorney review. Prepare and identify legal materials needed for transactional closings, depositions, regulatory filings, hearings, and presentations; resolve legal questions prior to attorney review. Obtain and review key due diligence information, prepare summary reports, run queries, and pull relevant statutes, regulations and case law for attorney review. Complete legal submissions to regulatory agencies, prepare reports and documents representing factual information, and research relevant regulations, codes, and case law to track the development of the regulatory landscape. Communicate with federal, state, and local officials regarding matters and research relevant regulations and case law. Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Mooresville, NC.
