Research Associate Co-Op, Protein Biochemistry

Keros Therapeutics seeks a research associate co-op to support protein biochemistry efforts focused on TGF-β superfamily signaling. The role involves designing novel protein molecules, optimizing purification methods, and characterizing biomolecules using biophysical techniques to advance early-stage drug discovery.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize novel protein molecules and variants using computational and molecular biology approaches
• Support mammalian protein expression and purification using FPLC and multiple chromatography techniques
• Develop and perform protein characterization assays including cell-based, SPR, BLI, and analytical methods
• Maintain detailed documentation of computational and experimental work in electronic lab notebooks
• Communicate research findings through presentations and written reports at research meetings

Requirements

• Demonstrated interest in protein sciences and/or computational biology
• Experience with structural biology, modeling techniques, and protein engineering principles
• Strong wet lab skills including pipetting, buffer preparation, and stoichiometric calculations
• Knowledge of protein chemistry and protein-protein interactions
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work independently with supervision
• Experience with chromatography-based protein purification (preferred)
• Familiarity with biophysical characterization methods (preferred)
