CNC Machinist

CNC MachinistStaffBuffalo is working with a growing manufacturing organization to hire a CNC Machinist, paying $30.00 to $40.00 per hour; depending on experience. This CNC Machinist role is an integral part of a state-of-the-art machine shop that has added five new machines in the last three years, with another machine scheduled to be installed later this year.The CNC Machinist will report directly to the Machine Shop Manager and will be responsible for setting up, loading, and operating various 5-axis machines in a cellular configuration. This position also involves monitoring and modifying programs as needed, performing limited work with CNC vertical and horizontal boring mills, and participating in lean, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma work teams.The successful candidate will bring at least two years of 5-axis machining experience, along with experience using Mastercam programming and/or Heidenhain controls. Candidates must also be able to read prints and complete basic shop math, while working safely in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.This position is located in the Northtowns.Responsibilities:Set up, load, and operate various 5-axis machines in a cellular configuration.Monitor and modify programs as needed, with main programming handled by programmers.Perform limited work with CNC vertical and horizontal boring mills.Participate in lean, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma work teams.Follow established safety policies and procedures.Work safely and participate in safety meetings.Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years of experience with 5-axis machines; 3 or more years preferred.Experience with Mastercam programming and/or Heidenhain controls.Ability to read prints and complete basic shop math.Trade school or higher-level education preferred.Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.Benefits:$30.00 to $40.00 per hour, based on experience.Medical and dental options.Benefit waiver payments if benefits are not needed.Vacation bonus when on vacation.Uniforms provided.Safety shoes provided.Prescription safety glasses provided if needed.The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that our client would be willing to pay for this position.
