The Medical Officer will be the senior physician in the market for both Adventist Health White Memorial, and Adventist Health White Memorial Montebello. Centered in the heart of Boyle Heights, Adventist Health White Memorial is one of the area's leading healthcare providers since 1913. We are comprised of a 192-bed hospital, wound care medical office and surgical and laboratory services. Job Summary: Serves as the senior physician leader in the market, with the role spanning medical and clinical staff alignment and engagement, market strategy, and finance and operations-related topics. Leads the organization to bring the clinical voice forward, be the patient advocate, acts as a subject matter expert for clinical staff and administration, and oversees care transformation initiatives directed by clinical cabinets. Leads the roll out of local initiatives within the market, and ensures the overall continuous quality improvement of care delivery. Mentors and develops the existing and future physician and clinical leadership across the market. Provides strategic and operational direction for the delivery of clinical care in close partnership with key clinical and operational leaders to ensure the highest level of patient safety and care. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in business, public health or equivalent combination or education/related experience: Required Master's Degree in public health, healthcare administration or related discipline: Preferred Fifteen years' of progressively responsible management experience within a healthcare system or complex hospital environment: Preferred Ten years' experience as a practicing physician in hospital medicine, primary care or specialty medicine: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Active state Medical Board license within the state of employment (CA): Required Medical license MD (MD) or Medical license DO (DO) or Physician and Surgeon G (PSG) or Physician and Surgeon C (PSC) or Physician and Surgeon A (MDA): Required Essential Functions: Executes on care transformation plans around the 6 initiatives: clinical leadership, high reliability organization, care redesign, population health, patient experience/engagement and clinical workforce. Leads efforts to roll-out the evidence-based standard of care, improve clinical outcomes, and disseminate best practices for the market in accordance with the care transformation initiatives. Provides oversight and assistance to the Chief of Staff, members of the Medical Executive Committee, and the Medical Staff to assist them in their roles and to maximize the market’s culture of patient safety and quality. Acts as a primary clinician liaison to the senior leadership team, Patient Safety and Quality related committees, and the community. Facilitates physician leadership development and education. Leads the market quality/patient safety staff in accordance with care transformation initiatives. Facilitates collegial and effective working relations with all clinicians (e.g., physicians, nurses, physician-assistants, advanced nurse practitioners, and other medical staff members). Provides leadership to improve physician alignment and patient satisfaction. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. The estimated base pay for this position is $487,000 - $609,000.
