Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a unique high school opportunity in Scottsdale, AZ for the upcoming school year.

Position Details

• Location: Scottsdale, AZ

• Start Date: August 19, 2026

• Duration: 9-Month School-Year Assignment

• Schedule: Monday-Friday

• Hours: 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM

• 40 Hours Per Week

• Pay: $49/hour local

Assignment Overview

This position supports students in a high school self-contained special education classroom . The teacher will work closely with a small student population while collaborating with support staff to provide individualized instruction and ensure student success.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs

• Provide specialized instruction aligned with student goals

• Maintain required documentation and compliance standards

• Foster student independence and life skills development

Qualifications

• Active Arizona Special Education Certification

• Experience in self-contained special education settings preferred

• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills

• Ability to support students with diverse learning needs

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred

• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations

• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred

• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
