Licensed Clinical Social WorkerThe primary site of services shall be located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD.The WRNMMC NICoE hours of operation are between 0600 – 1800 Monday through Friday with an uncompensated one-hour lunch break. Shifts will be 8 or 10 hours, for a 40-hour work week. This TO are expected to perform 8- or 10-hour shifts, for a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday. Specific work schedule will be assigned by the government service chief for the specific clinical specialty. The specific schedule for each two-week period will be provided one month in advance. At the mutual agreement of the Contractor and the Government, alternative schedules may be implemented such as a compressed work schedule. Any changes in the schedule shall be coordinated between the HCW and the Government. Any planned absences of the HCW shall be communicated to the Government supervisor in advance of the absence in order to ensure that clinical operations are not adversely affected. The Government reserves the right to change shift hours with a five-day notice to accommodate patient care needs and mission requirements.Overtime is not allowed on this Task Order/Contract.Graduated from an Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) accredited Master of Social Work (MSW) program.Possess and maintain a current unrestricted license to practice to work independently without clinical supervision.Have a minimum of two (2) years within the past five (5) years in the independent practice of clinical social work providing mental health counseling, therapy, and intervention services to adults.Must maintain current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course; American Red Cross CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) for the Professional Rescuer; or equivalent. Web-based classes do not meet these standards. Certification cards must display the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network emblem.Shall be sufficiently skilled to teach patients proper self-care and to motivate patients and family members to continue the procedures for promoting rapid healing.Shall be knowledgeable and possess skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related needs of the patients. The Contract LCSW shall demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the appropriate patient population served: Infants, Children, Adolescent, Adults, and Geriatric (>65).Possess the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary health care team, walk and stand for extended periods of time and be able to manage stress, as evidenced by the ability to respond and to meet demands of case load, such as submitting proper documentation and referrals.Possess knowledge and experience with military health system, combat/deployment issues, people suffering from medically unexplained symptoms, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and/or disasters are highly desired.The Contracted LCSW's will be knowledgeable in professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing adult and geriatric patients, as appropriate.Due to the unique environment providers must meet the necessary security screenings and background checks to qualify to work here at WRNMMC, NICoE, and be able to continuously meet and follow the stringent security requirements of the organization and handle sensitive privileged information in the appropriate fashion at all times in strict adherence to hospital policy.Contract Providers must be cognizant of the issues and considerations associated with caring for special patient populations including Wounded Warriors, Member of Congress, the President and Presidential appointees, United States Government Executives with special security needs and clearances and Veterans and Service members of the United States military.The Contracted LCSW's will provide the following services and in strict compliance with standing orders and protocols set forth by the MTF, and IAW JC guidelines to include, but will not necessarily be limited to the following:Provide individual, family and group psychotherapy, and couples' therapy.Provide screenings, scheduling and booking appointments, clinical assessments, treatment, case management, consultation, referral and education.Assess and resolve complex social, economic and psychosocial problems that may impact on the service members' and their families' medical treatment as outpatients, inpatients or while the service member is being evaluated for medical discharge from the service by providing behavioral health direct services, to include screening, assessment, treatment, referral, consultation and education and in conjunction with DoD BH-CPGs.Conduct biopsychosocial evaluations and provides therapeutic interventions including crisis counseling to individuals, groups and families as needed to facilitate behavioral health clinical care management and optimize care.Evaluates the individual and family systems as well as assesses patient's functioning within work, family and routines of daily living and identifies areas needing continued support, resources, and treatment in order to assist patients.Serves as a behavioral health referral resource and subject matter expert in behavioral health related programs to the MTF staff, medical staff in primary care clinics and other on-post medical settings.Provides services for high-risk populations (service members pending medical discharge due to physical and or behavioral health injuries/illnesses, service members who were wounded as a result of their military duties, and the families of service members killed in action, etc.).Develops, implements, and maintains partnerships with Soldiers, family members, other health care providers and community resources, as applicable. Develops comprehensive treatment care plans in accordance with behavioral health care standards.Coordinates services for military members or patients who move out of the local area to ensure continuity of care. Facilitates transfer of the case to the gaining facilities' behavioral health care case management resources, as appropriate.Serves as an advocate for military members and patients as needed, assists with navigating health care systems in obtaining appropriate referrals. Some of these contacts/referrals may include communicating with physicians, nurses, behavioral health professionals, prevention specialists, family members, etc. Other referrals may be acquiring resources and services dealing with financial benefits and housing issues including assisting with completing proper paperwork.Responsible for the completion of individual workload accountability in accordance with clinic, medical treatment facility and program requirements.Participate in and/or direct research and conducts clinical investigations in behavioral health or social work.Standing, walking, lifting, and bending are required. May work for extended periods in awkward positions to position patients during procedures or treatment measures. Lifts over 25 pounds. Work is performed with potential exposure to various diseases, emotionally disturbed and disruptive personalities. There is exposure to electrical equipment, pathogens and blood and body fluids and airborne pathogens. Personal protective equipment will be worn in accordance with established local policy.Healthcare Workers (HCWs) shall be neat, clean, well groomed, and in appropriate clothing when in patient care and public areas. All clothing shall be free of visible dirt and stains and shall fit correctly. Fingernails shall be clean and free from dirt, and hair shall be neatly trimmed and combed.Healthcare Workers shall display an identification badge that includes the HCW's full name and professional status (furnished by the Government) on the right breast of the outer clothing. Security badges provided by the Government shall be worn when on duty. HCWs shall identify themselves as contract personnel in all meetings; telephone conversations; formal and informal written communication with government personnel.Healthcare Workers shall become acquainted with and obey all station regulations, shall perform in a manner to preclude the waste of utilities, and shall not use Government resources (i.e., copiers, telephone, and computers, etc.) for personal business. All motor vehicles operated on these installations by HCWs shall be registered with the base security service according to applicable directives.Eating is prohibited in patient care areas/clinics and is restricted to designated areas.Smoking is prohibited in all clinic facilities.While on duty, HCWs shall not advise, recommend, or suggest to individuals authorized to receive services at Government expense that such individuals should receive services from the HCW when they are not on duty, or from a partner or group associated in practice with the Contractor, except with the express written consent of the Commanding Officer.Healthcare Workers shall read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently and maintain good communication skills with patients and other health care personnel.Healthcare Workers shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the task order.Healthcare Workers shall be in good standing and under no sanction or suspension by the federal government.Healthcare Workers shall be in good standing, and under no restrictions, with the state licensure board in any state in which a license is held or has been held within the last 10 years.
