Position Summary:
Perform clinical duties efficiently under the direction of a physician. Knowledgeable of all procedures and proficient to answer general questions regarding GI issues.
Responsibilities:
- Interview patients to obtain medical information including chief complaint and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
- Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
- Reconcile all patient medications
- Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
- Manage prescriptions and test results phone line to follow up with patients and physicians.
Requirements:
- Current MA certification or certified within 90 days of hire
- CPR certification
- Excellent computer skills, including utilizing the Electronic Medical Record (EPIC) for all documentation
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail
- High level of personal accountability
