Medical Assistant CMA/MA

Job Summary:

This position is for a Medical Assistant in a cardiology outpatient setting, supporting patient care and administrative tasks. The role requires providing clinical and clerical support to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent service delivery.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Greet patients, room them, and assist with vital signs and basic health assessments.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients regarding procedures, medications, or health management.
  
  
• 
  Utilize EMR systems to document visit details accurately and efficiently.
  
  
• 
  Support physicians with clinical tasks and prepare exam rooms between patient visits.
  
  
• 
  Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments using PennChart scheduling training.
  
  
• 
  Follow HIPAA privacy regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Proven cardiology experience or equivalent in a physician office setting for at least 18 months.
  
  
• 
  Ability to operate EMR systems, with preferred EPIC experience.
  
  
• 
  Strong patient communication and education skills.
  
  
• 
  Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA/MA) required.
  
  
• 
  Knowledge of medical office protocols, vital signs, and basic clinical procedures.
  
  
• 
  Willingness to complete required HIPAA, PennChart, and scheduling training prior to start.
