Position: Senior Manufacturing Engineer - UAS

Location: Irvine, CA on-site

Position Description: The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is a key technical contributor responsible for driving production readiness, manufacturing robustness, and continuous improvement for electro mechanical assemblies within DZYNE's airborne systems manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with technicians, quality, and design engineering to mature products from prototype into stable, repeatable production builds under an AS9100 compliant QMS. You will own manufacturing documentation, tooling, test workflows, and hands on build support to ensure high quality, scalable production.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or production engineering (aerospace, automotive, unmanned systems, electro-mechanical assemblies, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T, electrical schematics, wire harness documentation, and assembly diagrams.
• Experience supporting technicians on the floor, including creating redlines and investigating build issues.
• Experience supporting first-article builds, troubleshooting failures, and providing actionable manufacturing feedback.
• Familiarity with both mechanical and electrical manufacturing practices (harnessing, PCBAs, connectors, LRU assembly, mechanical subassemblies, etc.).
• Working knowledge of engineering analysis concepts (mechanical/electrical fundamentals) and industry standards.
• Working knowledge of best practices for creating electrical and mechanical drawings.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Experience with SolidWorks (mechanical) and basic familiarity with ECAD tools such as Altium (electrical) and Visio Professional.
• Experience designing fixtures or assembly aids.
• Experience with acceptance testing, ATP development, or production test workflows.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other regulated, low-volume, high mix manufacturing environments.

Education:

• Bachelors' degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.

Travel: Less than 10%

Working Conditions:

• The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as general office environment or warehouse, to field testing environments.
• Physical Demands:
• Ability to work in a standard office environment, using computer and other office equipment.
• Capability to travel to field sites, including manufacturing facilities, test sites, or operational environments.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. occasionally for handling technical equipment or documentation.

Work Authorization Requirement: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Salary: $125,000 - $157,000 annually Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
