Scrum Master / Kanban Manager

Salary: $72,000 - 112,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Kanban flow manager, agile delivery lead, or in a similar role supporting technical teams; backgrounds in infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or professional services are preferred.
• We need proven experience running Kanban in environments with substantial unplanned, interrupt-driven work; feature-team Scrum experience alone is not sufficient.
• We require strong, hands-on Jira administration skills, including workflows, boards, custom fields, JQL, dashboards, and reporting.
• We are seeking experience facilitating across multiple teams or pods at the same time.
• We need clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize status for executives and translate priorities for engineers.
• We want someone comfortable working with external customers and representing our team in customer-facing settings.
• We require willingness and ability to travel within the US up to 25% for customer onsite engagements, pilots, and rollout support.
• Preferred qualifications include certifications such as CSM, PSM I/II, or a Kanban certification (KMP/KSD), though real-world judgment matters more than the certificate.
• Preferred background includes working knowledge of IT infrastructure such as virtualization (KVM or VMware), Linux, networking, or edge and retail technology environments.
• Preferred experience includes professional services, managed services, or customer deployment organizations where delivery is tied to customer milestones.
• Preferred experience includes standing up process in a team that did not previously have a dedicated Scrum Master.
• Preferred familiarity with flow metrics tooling and time-accounting or capitalization-driven work classification.

• We facilitate the daily standup, replenishment meetings, triage, retrospectives, and flow reviews for both pods.
• We own intake and triage by making sure new work entering the queue is scoped, categorized, prioritized, and routed correctly, while preventing triage from becoming a bottleneck.
• We manage the Jira workspace, including board hygiene, workflow states, ticket quality, epic and sub-task structure, and consistent use of required classification fields.
• We make unplanned work visible by tracking the ratio of planned to reactive work and showing leadership the real cost of escalations and context switching.
• We track and report flow metrics such as cycle time, throughput, aging WIP, and time spent in blocked states, using them to guide improvement conversations.
• We follow up daily on blocked items, including work blocked on customers, vendors, or other internal teams, and keep stakeholders informed when dependencies slip.
• We coordinate cross-pod dependencies so shared tooling, images, and infrastructure changes from the platform pod land when the delivery pod needs them.
• We partner with project managers and account stakeholders on customer programs such as pilots, rollouts, and migrations, translating customer milestones into sequenced team work.
• We support the pod leads and the Director with capacity views, flow summaries, and early warning on at-risk work.
• We make sure retrospective action items get completed, not just documented.
