In this dynamic role, you will work within our national M&A practice servicing both corporate and private equity clients investing in or operating software, services, and technology-enabled services businesses across payer, provider, and Life Sciences domain areas including CDMO/contract manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, pharma services, oncology, radiology/imaging, diagnostics, and laboratory services.This team leads projects that deliver West Monroe’s core value creation and due diligence offerings, including platform acquisitions, mergers/integrations, corporate divestiture/carve-outs, sell-side readiness, and post-close value creation and execution. Our M&A team includes a variety of seasoned, expert, and award-winning professionals.You will be an integral part of our team, helping shape our culture and participate in the entrepreneurial process of growing a team with triple digit growth (strategy formulation, recruiting, team building, practice development, healthcare industry thought leadership, etc.).Senior Managers in our Mergers & Acquisitions practice have these primary responsibilities:Client Delivery:Lead teams serving clients and investors across the healthcare and life sciences industries, with specific capabilities in mergers & acquisitions and technology consulting, while demonstrating executive presence with C-level client counterpartsSupport Private Equity funds in buy side diligence, sell side diligence, mergers, carve-outs, and value creation & planning projectsLead engagements across Life Sciences organizations including CDMOs, pharmaceutical manufacturers, pharma services organizations, oncology platforms, radiology/imaging providers, diagnostics, and laboratory services businessesAssess functional and technology capability maturity as part of diligence/assessment projects and compare respective operating models, KPIs, organizational structures, and scalability against leading practices and industry benchmarksLead engagement teams on transaction advisory, guiding the team to prepare focused request lists and agendas, facilitating client reviews, and providing leadership oversight for deliverable creationLead post-close value creation projects for healthcare PE clients and/or funds, and lead program management offices (PMOs) that deliver transformational initiatives for portfolio companiesIdentify core findings and trends in data for project teams to quantifiably support recommendations across technology and operationsSupport and drive storyline development for project teams – drawing together data analysis, visualizations, recommendations, and financial impacts into cohesive deliverablesManage project economics including tracking project budgets, creating and delivering invoices, and managing A/R collection processesLeverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputsApply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomesPractice Development:Support the ongoing evolution and continuous improvement of WMP’s M&A methodologies (diligence, planning, carve-out, etc.) and approaches to client delivery within the Healthcare and Life Sciences value creation M&A teamSupport development of industry perspective pieces and client-facing thought leadership covering Healthcare and Life Sciences, including emerging trends across Life Sciences operations, manufacturing, and technology enablementHelp shape the culture and growth of the practice through participation in strategy formulation, team building, recruiting, mentorship, and practice development initiativesCoach and manage other consultants and actively participate in the performance review processBusiness Development:Understand client strategy and investment priorities and turn those goals into concrete engagements and detailed proposalsCoordinate and participate with leadership on business development initiatives and meetings with prospective clientsLead pricing estimates, proposals, and engagement letter creation as part of business development and project initiation processesBuild and maintain relationships within the Private Equity, Healthcare, and Life Sciences ecosystem through networking and industry engagementQualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred8+ years of experience working in healthcare technology at one of the following required: M&A/transaction advisory, IT consulting, healthcare software/HCIT implementation (e.g., EMR, commercial software) or in a similar role internal to a healthcare organizationExperience working Life Sciences organizations including pharma services, CDMO/contract manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotech/pharma, oncology, radiology/imaging, diagnostics, laboratory services, medical device, and healthcare technology organizationsUnderstanding of Life Sciences operating models, regulatory considerations, manufacturing environments, and operational scalability preferredExperience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputsInterest in healthcare business/economics (including healthcare reimbursement models), healthcare policy and regulatory changes and/or healthcare technology/interoperability is requiredStrong project management methodology background, including schedule, scope, issue and risk management experience, change management, strategic planning and analysisExperience managing multiple projects or workstreams concurrentlyStrong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; experience presenting to and navigating complex conversations with C-level clients or executivesProven success achieving in-market revenue expectationsStrong financial acumen and ability to analyze and interpret P&L statements and technology spend/investment categories requiredHigh proficiency with Excel required; salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below).
