The Opportunity We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable High School English Teacher (On‑Site Classroom Instructor) to join our Tempe Campus. What You’ll Do Provide daily on‑site instruction and academic support in English Language Arts through 1‑on‑1 and small‑group learning sessions. Support students in developing reading comprehension, analytical writing, grammar, research, communication, and critical thinking skills. Guide students through English coursework, including literature analysis, composition, and honors‑level English studies. Provide targeted intervention for students who are below grade level while offering enrichment opportunities for advanced learners. Review student writing and provide timely, constructive feedback to improve clarity, organization, grammar, and critical thinking. Monitor academic progress and implement interventions or enrichment strategies to promote measurable growth. Build strong relationships with students to foster motivation, accountability, confidence, and academic independence. Maintain accurate records of attendance, academic progress, and interventions. Support a small roster of online students with instruction, feedback, and progress monitoring. Communicate regularly with students and families to support engagement and success. Participate in professional development and staff collaboration. Perform other duties as assigned to support school operations and student success. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in education, English, Language Arts, or a related field (Master’s or higher preferred). Arizona Teaching Certificate in English, Language Arts, Secondary Education, or a related field, or the ability to obtain one. Highly qualified candidates with advanced degrees (Master’s/PhD) or significant subject‑matter expertise are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated ability to teach and support students in reading, writing, literature, grammar, communication, and critical thinking. Strong instructional skills with an emphasis on literacy development, differentiated instruction, individualized learning, and student‑centered teaching practices. Demonstrated ability to support diverse learners across a range of academic levels, including students needing additional support as well as those pursuing accelerated or honors‑level work. Ability to build a structured yet flexible classroom environment that promotes both accountability and independence. Comfort working in a non‑traditional, blended learning model, including the use of learning management systems and digital tools. Strong relationship‑building skills with students, with the ability to motivate, engage, and hold students to high expectations. Excellent organizational, time‑management, and communication skills. A growth‑oriented and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to contribute to both academic instruction and broader school initiatives.
