Job Description Summary The Lead Specialist, Patient Access - Specialty Operations is responsible for facilitating new patient’s transition to Option Care Health services with the goal of delivering a consistent onboarding experience where patients and referral partners feel Option Care Health makes it easy to transition care. The Lead Specialist, Patient Access - Specialty Operations facilitates all aspects of the patient’s transition to home/AIS and acts as a team lead by assisting the Supervisor or Manager in training team members, resolving complex referrals and leading special assignments. Scheduled work hours are 8:30a-5p Pacific Time, Monday thru Friday. Job Responsibilities Engages with patient, referral source, sales, pharmacy, and nursing to coordinate discharge and secure nursing and delivery. Creates, communicates and obtains all required documentation for new referrals. Secures patient’s upfront payment including assisting patients to find avenues for payment where needed (identifies opportunities and directs patient to financial assistance program). Supports the ongoing activities needed to ensure clean claims on hold and denial management (follow-up on paperwork where missing). Provides training and mentoring for new hires. Assists Supervisor and Manager to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues. Assists Supervisor and Manager with special assignments as needed. Identifies and communicate opportunities for improvement in process and recommend resolutions. Supervisory Responsibilities Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Basic Education And/or Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum of 2 years of experience using medical patient registration or reimbursement software (such as Brightree, CPR+, Dezine, Day Tech) and/or equivalent experience. Basic Qualifications Ability to multi-task and support numerous referrals/priorities at one time. Ability to work in a fast past environment. Must be detail-oriented and have a high degree of quality focus. High degree of customer service skills required. Ability to trouble shoot, problem solves and collaborate with cross-functional team members across sales and operation functions. Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs) Previous healthcare/medical billing experience preferred.
